Joseph Cherian serves as Associate Vice President of Technology at PMMC, where he provides strategic leadership for Information Technology, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Quality Assurance. With more than 17 years of professional experience, including 14 years at PMMC, Joseph focuses on ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the technology platforms that support healthcare organizations nationwide.
Joseph’s healthcare career began as a Medical Technologist with Novant Health, where he developed a strong clinical foundation and firsthand understanding of healthcare operations. After earning his Master of Healthcare Administration, he joined PMMC as a Managed Care Contract Analyst and quickly advanced through roles in account management, contract services, quality assurance, and technology leadership. Today, he leads teams responsible for IT operations, SRE, and QA while helping PMMC modernize its technology environment and strengthen organizational performance through accountability, process improvement, and operational excellence.
Joseph earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He serves on the UNC Charlotte MHA Advisory Board and was inducted into the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society in 2024. Outside of work, Joseph enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer and traveling.
