Kristen Wood serves as Senior Implementation Specialist at PMMC, where she helps healthcare organizations optimize revenue cycle performance, improve operational efficiency, and implement technology solutions that support long-term financial and organizational goals. Leveraging more than 25 years of experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, analytics, and healthcare technology, Kristen works closely with clients and internal teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline workflows, and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
Throughout her career, Kristen has built extensive expertise across healthcare administration, medical billing and coding, compliance, software development, project management, and business analytics. She began her career in medical practice administration, serving in leadership roles that included Billing Manager and Compliance Officer for a large multi-specialty practice. She later expanded into healthcare technology, leading software implementations, training initiatives, and operational consulting engagements for more than 100 medical practices nationwide. Kristen also spent several years in healthcare application development and quality assurance, including leading the creation and development of a CCHIT-certified medical billing platform. Her deep understanding of healthcare operations, data integrity, revenue cycle optimization, HL7 interfaces, and electronic claims processing enables her to bridge the gap between technology and business performance. At PMMC, she serves as a trusted subject matter expert supporting project managers, analysts, and clients across the organization.
Kristen studied Business Administration at Cleveland State University and holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), and Project Management Professional (PMP). She is also a graduate of the Vistage Emerging Leaders Program. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys traveling and exploring new destinations.
